Title
Une famille irlandaise de Sillery. Les Maguires
Abstract
Among the Maguires of Sillery, a Quebec City suburb, was John Maguire (1810-1880). As a Superior Court judge in 1877, he condemned the Catholic Church's interference in the election in Bonaventure County for counseling parishoners to vote for the Conservative Party. Mgr. Jean-Pierre-François Langevin excommunicated Maguire.
