Abstract |
First Statement was a literary periodical of modernist poetry published in Montreal between 1942 and 1945. First Statement was founded by John Sutherland (1919-1956) and his sister Betty Sutherland, and would include Montreal poets Irving Layton (1912-2006) and Louis Dudek (1918-2001) on its editorial board.
