Creation of an Early Victorian Suburb in Montreal
|
Abstract |
A study of the development of Montreal's "terrace townscape", a mid-nineteenth century architectural style of housing built on the southern plateau of Mount Royal, overlooking what is now downtown Montreal. An imitation of a British architectural style, these terrace houses were built mainly for wealthy Anglophone landowners.
