Klein (1909-1972) was a Montreal poet, novelist, journalist and lawyer. The book covers Klein's interests in the Great Depression, the rise of fascism, Nazism, and communism, the Second World War, the emergence of the State of Israel, as well as the Canadian Jewish scene.
