| Abstract |
Studied are two working-class Montreal wards, the predominately English-speaking (Irish) St. Ann and the predominately French-speaking Saint-Jacques. The author looks at the involvement of family members in wage labour, education, non-wage and domestic labour at home, as well as patterns of marriage, childbearing and residential arrangements.
