Abstract
Dominion Bridge Company Limited was founded in Montreal by American-born engineer Job Abbott (1845-1896). The company focused on manufacturing iron and steel, and building bridges throughout Canada, particularly railroad bridges for the Canadian Pacific Railway. In the 1960s and 1970s, Dominion Bridge expanded internationally and renamed itself AMCA International in 1981.
