Abstract
Over ninety percent of post-Second World War Italian immigrants to Quebec settled on the Island of Montreal, with the highest concentration in the Montreal suburb of Saint-Leonard. This thesis studies the role of Italian women in Saint Leonard in the inter-generational process of ethnic language maintenance.
