Abstract
The British-born Scott (1826-1895) came to Canada in the 1850s to work on Montreal's Victoria Bridge. In 1858, along with Pierre Gauvreau, Scott was hired by the Grand Trunk Railway as supervising architect for the construction of a number of railway stations between Quebec City and Trois-Pistoles. He also supervised the completion of Montreal's Christ Church Cathedral on the death of its designer, Frank Wills, in 1857.
