Title
Discordia: When Netanyahu Came to Town
Abstract
On September 9, 2002, a scheduled appearance by former Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Natanyahu at Montreal’s Concordia University sparked a riot between pro-Israel and pro-Palestinian supporters. The confrontation garnered international media coverage. This film examines the fallout from that incident. It follows three Concordia student activists – Samer Elatrash of the Solidarity for Palestinian Human Rights; Noah Sarna, co-president of Concordia’s Jewish student association, Hillel; and Aaron Maté, a vice-president of the university’s student council.
