Abstract
The Royal Montreal Curling Club is the oldest curling club in North America, established on January 27, 1808, by Scottish Montrealers. The group met at Gillis Tavern to establish the club's rules. The club was also the first in Canada to build an indoor rink. This book, published on the 125th anniversary of the club, traces the club's history and lists members from 1807 to 1932. Originally known as the Montreal Curling Club, on February 23, 1924, a Royal Warrant was issued granting the Club the right to add the word "Royal" to its name.
