Abstract
The author outlines the history of hockey in Montreal, including the rivalry between Anglophone (English, Irish and Scots) teams and Francophone teams in the city. The author also tells the story of the Montreal Forum, originally built for the Montreal Maroons, one of the Anglophone hockey clubs, but eventually became the home rink of the Montreal Canadiens.
