Abstract
Includes a chapter on late nineteenth century "Protestant" universities of Quebec (i.e. McGill University and Bishop's University), and information on St. Mary's College for English-speaking Quebec Roman Catholics, founded in 1851 as the English sector of Montreal's Collège Ste-Marie. St. Mary's College separated from Collège Ste-Marie in 1896 to become Loyola College which, in 1974, merged with Sir George Williams University to become Concordia University.
