Abstract
Moses Hart (1768-1852) was a businessman and unsuccessful politician from Trois-Rivières who, in 1815, proposed a new religion in a 60-page pamphlet entitled "General Universal Religion." His political opinions condemned Lower Canada's legal system. He also fought for the rights of fellow English-speaking Lower Canadians.
