Abstract
The British-born Herbert Symonds (1860-1921) was an Anglican priest, theologian and author. He immigrated to Canada in 1881 and moved to Montreal in 1903 where he became vicar of Christ Church Cathedral. He served the Cathedral for the next eighteen years. Symonds was actively involved in educational affairs in Montreal. He served as president of the Protestant Board of School Commissioners of the City of Montreal from 1907 to 1912.
