Abstract
The author recreates the "spiritual ecology" of nineteenth century Catholic Quebec, outlining the role played by the Irish and Irish-Canadian priests in Quebec City. She includes information on the career of Father Patrick McMahon (1796-1851), who for twenty-five years was associated with the Irish Catholic community of Quebec City.
