Abstract |
An academic analysis of the music and lyrics of American Bob Dylan (b. 1941) and Montrealer Leonard Cohen (1934-2016), the two great "pop-poets" whose careers began in the 1960s and continued into the twenty-first century. Dylan was a singer who wrote poetic lyrics; Cohen was a poet who sang. They both used their music to question the personal, social and political norms of their times.
