Abstract
An account of the attack on Thomas Walker, a Montreal merchant and magistrate, on December 6, 1764, by members of the British military garrison. The incident nearly divided the English-speaking members of the colony into armed camps and eventually led to the recall of Quebec's first British governor, James Murray.
