Title
The Formative Influence of the Holocaust in the Writings of Mordecai Richler
Abstract
The author argues that Richler's writing is shown to demonstrate Jewish powerlessness intensified through direct experience of anti-Semitism in Montreal in the 1930s and 1940s, and the loss of faith in humanist liberal values emerging from the consciousness of the Holocaust.
