Abstract
The Sherbrooke Snow Shoe Club (SSSC) was founded in 1877. The author describes the preparation for the club's 1909 snowshoe "carnival," held from February 5th to February 8th of that year, and included a Friday hockey game between the Anglophone SSSC and the city's Francophone snowshoe club, La Tuque Rouge, short and long-distance races over the weekend, with refreshments and smoking after the races, and a "Subscription Ball" on Monday.
