Abstract
The author defines "Canadianism" as the implementation of the concept of bilingualism and biculturalism in Canada. Curricula at McGill, Sir George Williams (now part of Concordia), and Bishop's universities were studied to assess Canadian content. Faculty attitudes were surveyed to evaluate contemporary perceptions of the importance of stressing "Canadianism" through curricula offerings. An interesting sidelight is a study of faculty personnel characteristics and of academic employment trends in English Quebec universities in the 1970s.
