Abstract
The McGill University-educated William McLean Rowat (1859-1931) practiced medicine from his home in Athelstan for over forty years. He also served as the coroner for the District of Beauharnois, was on the Protestant Committee of Public Instruction, served on the municipal council of Hinchinbrooke and on the local school board.
