En Masse: An Introduction and an Index
Abstract
En Masse was a Montreal-based little magazine that was edited by poet Patrick Anderson (1915-1979) in 1945. Its purpose was to express the political views of the Labour Progressive Party. The magazine only published four issues. The author notes that Anderson was convinced that a progressive cultural magazine could be both a vehicle for political change and a document of artistic merit while avoiding the excesses of polemic.
