Title |
Rethinking Canadian Economic Growth and Development since 1900 : The Quebec Case
|
Abstract |
The author contends that the period from 1945 to 1960 in Quebec, known as the Great Darkness (Grande Noirceur), was in fact a breaking point where the previous decades of relative decline were overturned. The author argues that this era should be considered the Great Catch-up (Grand Rattrapage) . He describes the post-1960s as the "quiet decline" (déclin tranquille) of Quebec.
