Dr. William Robertson
Abstract
The Scottish-born William Robertson (1784-1844), military surgeon, physician and educator, was one of the founders of the Montreal Medical Institution (1822). Robertson was its head and its instructor in midwifery and diseases of women and children. In 1829 the institution became the medical faculty of McGill University, and Robertson was appointed professor and official head of the faculty.
