Title
The R.B. Angus Art Collection: Paintings, Watercolours and Drawings
Abstract
The author presents information about the art collection of the Scottish-born Montreal businessman Richard Bladworth Angus (1831-1922). One of the major promoters of the Canadian Pacific Railway, Angus' collection of paintings, watercolours and drawings in 1922 is estimated by the author to have been between 250 and 300 works. The author attempts to reconstruct a list of the Angus collection to show an example of the taste of a conservative Scottish-Montreal late-Victorian collector.
