A study of the American, Scottish and finally French-Canadian immigration into Compton County between 1792 and the 1860s. The daily lives of the pioneer settlers in this Eastern Township is depicted as they attempt to settle a land only marginal as to location and agricultural purposes. Includes a comparative study of the society and economy of the three groups.
