Title
Mordecai Richler: Leaving St. Urbain
Abstract
A biographical examination of how Mordecai Richler's life was central to all of his writing. Richler (1931-2001) maintained that his private life was not important in his literary work. The author argues that Richler's Jewishness, his Canadian identity, and support of secularism were central in his life and work. The author includes a "selective" bibliography of Richler's works, including lists of published interviews with Richler, Richler’s unpublished books, and Richler’s screenplays and radio plays.
