Abstract
Includes the histories of the evolution of ten schools in Quebec that teach textiles and weaving, including Montreal's The Canadian Handicrafts Guild and Concordia University. The Canadian Handicrafts Guild was founded in 1906 by Mary Martha Phillips and Mary Alice Peck. In 1974 it merged with the Canadian Craftsman's Association to form the Canadian Crafts Council, now known as the Canadian Crafts Federation.
