Title
Les hassidim de la Belle Province : de la Pologne à Montréal
Abstract
The author traces the roots of Hasidism to Europe through to the Jewish sect's arrival in Montreal. The book's chapters address the most important issues facing Hasidic life in Montreal, both positive and negative. The author writes about the distinction of Chabad Hasidim; the Tasher community of Broisbriand; and the challenges in Outremont, including the eruv, the limitations on sukkot, zoning disagreements, and Purim busses, as well as the strength of family, the strong intra-communal ties, and the joy of holidays.
