The parades in nineteenth-century Montreal examined by the author were: St. Andrew's Day (30 November - Scots); St. George's Day (23 April - English); St. Patrick's Day (17 March - Irish); Orangemen's Day (12 July - Irish Protestants); Saint-Jean-Baptiste (24 June - French Canadians); The Queen's Birthday (24 May); and the anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo (18 June).
