They Got to Find Mee Guilty Yet
Abstract
The biography of Patrick James Whelan (c.1840-1869), an Irish-born alleged Fenian sympathizer, who was publically hanged in Ottawa on February 11, 1869 for the assassination of Montreal politician and Father of Confederation Thomas D'Arcy McGee (1825-1868). Whelan professed his innocence to the end, and the author concludes that he was not guilty of the murder.
