Abstract
Before Jackie Robinson (1919-1972) became a starting player for the Brooklyn Dodgers, he spent the 1946 season with the Montreal Royals (the Dodgers' farm club). Robinson broke the professional baseball color line when the Dodgers started him at first base on April 15, 1947.
