Title
Une histoire sociale du curling au Québec de 1807 à 1980
Abstract
An exploration of almost two hundred years of the sport of organized curling in Quebec, including information on clubs and players, bonspiels, and the evolution of equipment and techniques. The game was brought to Quebec by Scottish soldiers and settlers before 1800, organized into clubs by middle-class Anglophones in the early nineteenth century, and pick-up by Francophones in the late nineteenth century. The Montreal Curling Club, formed in 1807, was the first curling club in Canada.
