Title
The Richler Affair and Others: The Problems of Living Together in Quebec
Abstract
A review essay of Mordecai Richler’s Oh Canada! Oh Quebec!: Requiem for a Divided Country, William Johnson’s Anglophobie Made in Québec, and Jacques Langlais and David Rome’s Jews & French Quebecers: Two Hundred Years of Shared History. The author supports the criticisms of Richler and Johnson against Québécois nationalism, and dismisses Langlais and Rome’s book as revisionist history that tries to ignore the real roots of Quebec’s anti-Semitic nationalist past.
