Title
The Nationalist Prism: A Study of Ethnicity, Social Class and Nationalism in Quebec Province, 1919-1936
Abstract
The author analyzes the Francophone Quebec Nationalist movement between 1919 and 1936. His Marxist analysis reveals that different segments within the Francophone non-dominant working class differed substantially in the degree to which their material interests were advanced by Nationalist objectives. Furthermore, the author’s findings show that these varying interests influenced the extent to which particular social class segments within the Francophone working class supported Nationalist objectives.
