Abstract
An account of the social development of the present villages of Como, Hudson and Hudson Heights in the county of Vaudreuil, Quebec. The author outlines the motives of the British immigrants in choosing to settle in this area off the island of Montreal, and the effects of the Rebellion of 1837 on the relationships between the English-speaking community and their French-speaking neighbours.
