Abstract
The history of a First World War unit - also known as the McGill Siege Battery - founded in April 1916 by Dr. W.D. Tate, a dentist at McGill University. Originally reserved for McGill graduates of the 1915 school year, it later opened up to undergraduates and "potential graduates" as the demand for men grew. In all, 400 McGill men served with the battery as it saw action at such battles at Passchendaele and Vimy Ridge.
