A Comparative Study of Caseworkers and Community Organizers : An Analysis of the Values, Attitudes, Knowledge and Skills of Recent Graduates from the McGill School of Social Work in Casework and Community Organization
Abstract
The author analyzed the values, attitudes, knowledge and skills of forty caseworkers and community organizers who had graduated from Montreal’s McGill University in the late 1960s. Her research instrument was a three-part questionnaire. Part 1 measured the relative weight of theoretical, economic, aesthetic, social, political and religious orientations in the respondents. Part 2 tested the respondents’ attitudes on the nature and function of social work. Part 3 measured opinions, knowledge and skills in different areas of professional concern.
