Looks at four Black Canadian families whose lives have been influenced by the musical traditions handed down from generation to generation. The film looks at the Biddle and Sherwood families of Montreal, the Richardson family of Toronto and the King family of Vancouver, and covers various genres including gospel, jazz and rhythm and blues.
