Title
A History of English-Canadian Literature to the Confederation: In Relation to the Literature of Great Britain and the United States
Abstract
The author argues that the birth of Canadian literature did not take place until the American Revolution and the immigration of American Loyalists. Although much emphasis by the author is placed on publications (books and periodicals) emanating from the Maritimes, he does outline writings produced in English in Quebec prior to Confederation.
