Title
Pioneer English Catholics in the Eastern Townships
Abstract
An account of early English Catholic settlers in the Eastern Townships. The first recorded English-speaking Catholic to settle in the Townships was John Mulvena, born in Ireland 1785, who settled in the Sherbrooke area from 1808 to 1812, and in Richmond after 1814. The author offers genealogical information on other early Catholic immigrants to the Townships, most of whom were Irish.
