Abstract
The author argues that support for the eugenics movement in Quebec was divided along linguistic-cultural lines. Anglophone intellectuals, such as McGill professors Carrie Derrick (1862-1941) and John George Adami (1862-1926), tended to be among the proponents of the movement, while French Canadian intellectuals, such as Hervé Blais, and the Quebec Catholic Church opposed the movement.
