Discussion Forum for Representatives of Young Anglophones of Quebec
Abstract
The Conseil permanent de la jeunesse (CPJ), established by the provincial government in 1985, organized a discussion forum for youth representatives from Quebec's Anglophone community in May 2002 to obtain a better understanding of the situation of this segment of Quebec society. A predetermined agenda consisted of the following topics: the Quebec education and social systems and Anglophone youths; entering the workforce as young Anglophones; political involvement for Anglophones; the needs of various cultural communities within Anglophone Quebec; and the role of the CPJ in addressing issues facing young Anglophones. The CJP acknowledged that it had no contact with Anglophone youth to that point.
