Abstract
The author argues that Quebec’s overwhelming support for the Canada-U.S. Free Trade Agreement and the upsurge of language difficulties within the province evolved out of the conflict between Quebec’s pursuit of a neo-conservative agenda and its traditional goals of cultural preservation.
