Abstract
A history of the late nineteenth century settlement and early twentieth century industrial expansion of the Eastern Townships village of Reed's Crossing, also known as Reedsville, on the Massawippi River, a few kilometers north of North Hatley. The first Reeds to settle in the area were Thomas Reed (1808-1882) and his wife Eliza Little.
