Abstract |
The history of the Montreal investment advisors company MacDougall, MacDougall & MacTier Inc. Donald Lorn MacDougall (1811-1885), a founder of the firm, is considered one of the first brokers in Montreal, and in the 1850s established MacDougall Brothers with George Campbell MacDougall. Both brothers, along with brother Hartland St. Clair MacDougall, were involved in the establishment of the Montreal Stock Exchange in 1873. In 1960, the firm merged with MacTier & Co. and became familiarly known as the "3 Macs".
