A detailed biography of a nineteenth century English Quebec politician and Father of Confederation. The British-born Alexander Tilloch Galt (1817-1893), businessman, politician, author, and diplomat, was the English Quebec Protestant community's representative during the Confederation debates. He was also instrumental in developing the Eastern Townships through his association with the British American Land Company.
