Title
Les jumelages linguistiques et culturels entre écoles francophones et anglophones : qu'en pensent les parents?
Abstract
Quebec's Ministère de l'Éducation des Loisirs et du Sport initiated in 2007-2008 a pilot exchange program between Anglophone and Francophone students in Quebec. Eight high school classes from three school boards participated: four from the Lester B. Pearson School Board and four from the Commission scolaire Marguerite-Bourgeois de Montréal and the Commission scolaire Chic-Chocs de Saint-Anne des Monts. The goal of the pilot project was to promote positive attitudes among the students towards second language learning and linguistic diversity in Quebec through exchange activities organized in the classroom and educational field trips. The author outlines an assessment of the project and the reactions of the parents of the students who participated.
