Title
Les maisons à loggia des Cantons-de-l'Est : un héritage à préserver
Abstract
A look at residences in the southern part of the Eastern Townships whose builders incorporated an unusual design feature known as a "loggia", or recessed balcony. The authors trace the spread of these types of houses in the mid-1800 from Vermont, New Hampshire and elsewhere in New England into border townships of Stanbridge, Compton, Eaton, Barnston and Stanstead. The greatest concentration of these houses still in existence are in the Stanstead and Danville areas.
