Les passagers du Carricks of Whitehaven
Abstract
The author lists the names of the passengers aboard the Carrick of Whitehaven, one of the so-called coffin ships carrying Irish immigrants who were driven off their tenant-farms during the famine in their country. The Carrick sank in a storm off Cap-des-Rosiers, Gaspésie, on April 5, 1847. Of the 173 passengers, 87 bodies were found and buried in a mass grave in Cap-des-Rosiers.
